About Coach

I was a gymnast for around 9 years, so I practically grew up in a gym. I remember starting in the kids' classes and learning how to walk across beams on my tiptoes, how to flip around different bars, run super fast down a tumble track, and cartwheel until I made it across the gym floor. Outside of the gym, I ran track in middle school and eventually transitioned to volleyball for a few years. I’ve always been an athlete at heart and knew I would always have an active lifestyle. I’ve had multiple injuries and setbacks throughout my sports era, which eventually led me to step away from sports altogether and find a new form of fitness. I wanted to find something that pushed my body, made me feel confident in my skin, and that put a smile on my face. That’s when I stumbled upon a CrossFit in 2019. I remember my first workout had thrusters and pull-ups, and I met a coach who encouraged me to keep moving through the entire workout. I was EXTREMELY sore the next day, but oh my did I love it! My gym quickly shut down during Covid, and I moved to WildFire CrossFit. I instantly felt a part of the community with many warm welcomes from members and coaches. CrossFit has shown me I can still be an athlete, show my gymnast side through bar muscle-ups and handstands, and have fun working out. And I can’t forget, slamming a heavy barbell has become my favorite thing EVER!

Turning Point

I stepped away from being a gymnast due to an elbow injury and recurring pain that would not stop. I had to step away from volleyball after dislocating my shoulder a few times. I then paused CrossFit after dislocating my shoulder again and finally getting surgery. At this point, I did not know how to keep my body safe or trust myself. How do I make my body strong again? How can I have zero fear when swinging on the bar? How can I lift a barbell over my head again? These were just a few of the many thoughts that ran through my brain during my recovery. Through CrossFit, I’ve learned how to rehab my body to come back stronger than ever. There were many road bumps and lessons along the way to full recovery that I appreciate. In the end, going through surgery and a long recovery has taught me to slow down in different workouts, when to push myself harder, how to incorporate recovery weeks, and when I need to work on a specific movement pattern. CrossFit provided me a way to customize my workout with a giant sling on my body, to moving a light barbell slowly overhead, to all out full body high intensity workouts. I’ve learned to fully trust my mind and body, and know that CrossFit will always have my back.

Motivation & Passion

I am fascinated with anatomy and how the body moves. I am eager to continue learning new exercises, stretches, mindset strategies, routines, and the best way to fuel the body. I want to apply all the knowledge I gain to every person I meet in the gym and life. I believe YOU should find a form of fitness that YOU enjoy and that allows you to turn your brain off for one hour. Allow yourself to let go of all your external stressors and let your body move. I am excited to work with everyone who enters the gym whether you are starting your fitness journey or have been working out for years. Let’s lift!
