Help Us Help More People!

We have come a long way over the last (almost) 9 years at WildFire CrossFit! Our very first workout was on September 3rd, 2012 when we had more concrete than mats covering the floor, white walls, and a rig with only 4 squat racks. It’s been a long road with plenty of twists and turns, a few bumps and bruises, a lot of happy memories, and most of all, a ton of FUN! We are proud to be thriving through the adversity of the pandemic and this Community has been incredible by coming together in true WildFire fashion…together and better than ever!

We’ve got a lot of great things happening at WildFire CrossFit! We’ve added more classes, like Olympic Lifting on Tuesday mornings, we are working on new programs for both kids & seniors, and we’ve got new members coming in daily. It’s all GREAT stuff!

Let’s talk about new members for a minute. First off, welcome and congratulations on making a great decision that will have a major impact on your health and life! As long as you stick with it, stay consistent, I promise that you will have incredible results. As a member once told me, “I just kept coming in consistently, and before I knew it, working out and eating right just became a lifestyle I couldn’t live without”. For those of you who have been at WildFire for a while, think about what it was like when you got started. Take a minute to welcome someone new, introduce yourself to someone you don’t know, cheer on everyone, and be an ambassador to the WildFire Community by helping to make everyone’s experience special each day.

And now, for the main point of this message….as many of you have seen, our classes are busier than ever, and we are doing our best daily to manage the waitlist and make sure everyone gets into the classes they want. While I don’t want to make any promises until everything is finalized and we have something in writing, we are working on getting more space in our building and we are crossing our fingers that it’s going to happen sooner than later. As soon as we know for sure, we will announce all the details.

The bottom line is that we need everyone’s help. As I mentioned before, we are managing the waitlist daily, and we have athletes who are cancelling at the last minute or just not showing up for classes they have reserved. Even worse, we have athletes who are on the waitlist, and even though we are opening it up, in many cases, by the time the class starts, we could still add more spots from no shows. This does not work, and we need to get this under control! When you don’t show up or cancel late, there’s a good chance you are keeping someone else from being able to attend a class, especially in the morning.

Many of you like to reserve classes as far ahead as you can, and we like giving you the ability to do this. No matter what time of day you plan to come in, PLEASE, be considerate of other members of the community and take yourself off the schedule as soon as possible. Better yet, when you reserve your class, you are making a commitment to WildFire, and more important, to yourself, so keep that commitment and show up for the classes you reserve.

Now, we understand that things happen, we can also see that in many cases it’s a lot of the same people “things” are happening to. That’s why, for now, we are going to go with the “please help us help more people” method. If this doesn’t work over the next week or so, we may have to implement some additional procedures that could include things like charging people for no-shows and late cancels, not letting people reserve classes more than a day or two ahead, and/or, making it so athletes have to un-reserve their classes several hours or even the night before. NONE of these are things we want to do.

The WildFire Community really is special. We hear it all the time from people who travel or have belonged to other CrossFit gyms. More than anything we want to keep that going and be as inclusive as possible and help as many people as possible get fit, live a positive lifestyle, have fun, and be a part of something that can change people’s lives for the better, and we need all of your help to do it. So let’s make it happen and continue to make WildFire CrossFit a place where everyone can ignite their life!!
